 2010 NASCAR RV CAMPING SEASON

Hello Race Fans!

Sorry for the delay regarding renewals for the 2010 July Race camping season.

The H1N1 ran amuck in our house landing me in the hospital for seven days with double pneumonia. Although I almost became a statistic, I’m on the mend and getting ready to gear up for the races.

It’s hard to believe Paul and Mary’s Raceway Camping will be celebrating its TEN YEAR Anniversary. We have come a long way since our 70 sites and hayrack rides with the help of seasoned NASCAR campers who gave us good advice along the way to get us where we are now.

One of our seasoned campers with “Tenure” is planning to help us celebrate by hosting a cookout on Thursday night for all of those who have stayed with us since the first race in 2001. Look for more information coming  directly to those who qualify during the winter and spring.

Paul and I will also be designing some decals for trailers for those who have “Tenure” at Paul and Mary’s Raceway Camping.

Prices will remain the same as last year at $345 for electric and $225 for non-electric sites. Half-sites for the two man tent will be $115. All site prices cover from Wednesday to Sunday, one free septic pumpout, free water at the water stations, live band and shuttle service.

Unfortunately, in these economic times there was an extraordinary pilferage from the ice trailer money buckets in 2009. Don’t look at each other; it could have well been locals. We will now have one ice trailer up by the garage and it will be manned to collect funds during busy times and staff in the garage will take money and distribute ice. After a final tally of losing over $1,000 the honor system must come to an end.

A new rule will be added to our campground courtesies at the request of the Will County Health Department. Please no burning of painted or treated wood in fire pits.

If you receive this letter and instructions for renewal via e-mail, you WILL NOT be receiving a renewal in the mail via the postal service. We ask that you renew online using the special registration form designated for returning customers only. This we hope will save a tree or two.

If you are receiving this in the mail via postal service, we do not have a viable email address. If you have an email address where we can contact you, please include it on your renewal form for future use.

As in past years, you will not be billed for sites until February 1, 2010.

With the ticket package now being split, we hope and expect business to pick up so be sure to get your sites reserved early and payments of invoices in. If you require a payment plan or need to make special arrangements regarding payment, please don’t hesitate to call and ask. If you keep in touch you won’t be at risk of losing your site to another customer due to lack of payment.

We do need some help from you as customers here. Locals have been infiltrating the campground despite the best efforts of security. A cooler was stolen again this year by locals from a site. These are grown adults who are coming in, parking in the far back of the west side of the campground and partying among you at the campfires. We need your help.

If you see someone among you at your fire with no wrist band or who happens to politely mention they “live down the road” or knows a little too much about where everything is at in the area, please call the house on your cell phone so we can send security down to your area and have them removed from the property.

These people may seem nice and polite and fun to party with, but remember, these people are also the ones who are stealing from your bars, taking coolers home and hitting the money bucket at the ice chest.

Please work with us to keep these people from the property during the race weekend.

Paul and I look forward to hearing from you regarding your site renewal.

Sincerely,

Paul and Mary Bernhard
